Andrew Whitworth Likely In His Final Season
4 years agoLos Angeles Rams left tackle Andrew Whitworth, who is entering his 16th NFL season, hinted that the 2021 season would likely be his last. "So this year, to me, it feels like this is it. This is like, I've put everything into trying to play this season and play at the level I want to," Whitworth said. The 39-year-old suffered a knee injury last year that kept him out for nearly half the season. But Whitworth did return to play 92 percent of the offensive snaps in a wild-card win and 100 percent of the snaps in the Divisional Round loss to the Green Bay Packers. The four-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro will turn 40 years old in December, but he has long been a rock on LA's offensive line. As long as he can stay on the field, Whitworth will be tasked with protecting new quarterback Matthew Stafford.
