Andrew Vaughn Starting On Saturday Despite Friday's Injury
3 years agoChicago White Sox first baseman/outfielder Andrew Vaughn (face) is starting in left field and batting seventh in Saturday's game against the Houston Astros. Vaughn was forced to leave Friday's game after suffering a facial contusion when he was hit in the face by a throw from Astros outfielder Chas McCormick. He was deemed day-to-day after Friday's game. White Sox manager Tony La Russa told the media that Vaughn's vision was better on Saturday, enabling him to get back into the lineup. Vaughn is still looking to get comfortable at the plate in his first stint in the Majors. Over 56 games this year, he's slashing .229/.305/.391 with five home runs, 16 RBI and 27 runs.
