Andrew Nardi Picks Up His First Save Sunday
2 years agoMiami Marlins left-hander Andrew Nardi earned his first save of 2023 in Sunday's 14-inning marathon against the Chicago Cubs. He threw a perfect frame with one strikeout to protect the 5-4 lead. Nardi owns a 4.60 ERA this season but has posted a strong 28.1% strikeout rate and 1.15 WHIP over 15.2 innings. AJ Puk, Dylan Floro, and Tanner Scott all pitched earlier in the game on Sunday, so the 24-year-old was one of the final options in the club's bullpen. Fantasy managers can't expect Nardi to see many more save opportunities the rest of the way.
