Andrew McCutchen Provides Only Offense In Loss To Marlins
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Andrew McCutchen went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in a 3-1 loss to the Marlins on Wednesday. The homer was McCutchen's seventh of the season to go with his 20 runs, 19 RBI, and three steals. The veteran outfielder is batting just .222 this season, but some of that can be chalked up to a .253 BABIP that is well below his career average. He's not striking out more than usual and he's still getting on base at an impressive rate thanks to a 17 percent walk rate. His elevated walk rate and .357 OBP should be enough to keep 'Cutch in the leadoff spot for Philadelphia despite the batting average struggles. McCutchen is a must-roster outfielder in fantasy leagues that value OBP.
