Andrew McCutchen Getting A Rest Monday
1 year agoPittsburgh Pirates designated hitter/outfielder Andrew McCutchen will begin Monday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers on the bench. The Dodgers are expected to go with right-hander Michael Grove on Monday night as McCutchen takes a seat after going 0-for-9 with two strikeouts against zero walks over his last two contests. It's been a big return to Pittsburgh for the former NL MVP as McCutchen is hitting .278 with 10 home runs, nine stolen bases, and an .830 OPS across 72 appearances on the campaign. His current 129 wRC+ would be his best mark since 2015 if the season ended today. Brian Reynolds will take over as the club's designated hitter Monday night in Los Angeles.
