Andrew Kittredge Notches Two-Inning Save
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Andrew Kittredge struck out two over two scoreless innings to earn the save during Saturday's 4-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles. He entered the game in the eighth inning and recorded the final six outs to lock down his fourth save of the season. The 31-year-old continues to be the most reliable pitcher out of the Rays bullpen, owning an (8-2) record along with a 1.32 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and 67 strikeouts over 61 1/3 innings in 2021. Kittredge is 4-for-4 in save opportunities and has recorded six holds over 46 appearances, making him more valuable in fantasy leagues that reward solds (saves and holds). Pete Fairbanks (shoulder) and Nick Anderson (elbow) are close to returning to action; Kittredge will continue to be used in high-leverage situations but could lose out on valuable save opportunities once both pitchers return. Kittredge is the Rays' closer fantasy managers should roster for now.
