Andrew Kittredge Notches Third Save
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Andrew Kittredge allowed one hit while striking out four across two innings to earn the save during Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. The Rays right-hander entered the game in the eighth inning and retired six of seven batters he faced to secure his third save of the season. He continues to be used in high-leverage situations and has plenty of fantasy value in league formats that reward solds (saves and holds). The 31-year-old is 3-for-3 in save chances and owns a 1.37 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and a 65:14 K: BB over 59 1/3 innings in 2021. Pete Fairbanks (shoulder) and Nick Anderson (elbow) are close to returning; the Rays will continue to use a closer-by-committee until Fairbanks or Anderson are activated.
