Andrew Heaney Expected To Join Rotation
3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Andrew Heaney is expected to join the rotation, per manager Aaron Boone. Heaney was acquired from the Angels in exchange for prospects Janson Junk and Elvis Peguero. The 30-year-old lefty has pitched to an underwhelming 5.27 ERA but ranks among the top 25 pitchers in K-BB percentage. With the Yankees wanting to be mindful of the respective workloads of Jameson Taillon- as well as Luis Severino (shoulder, groin) and Corey Kluber (shoulder)- look for Heaney to provide some depth. His strikeout upside is worth looking at in fantasy formats, but investors should be wary of how his fly-ball tendencies will play in Yankee Stadium, leaving him as more of a streamer.
