2 years agoFree-agent relief pitcher Andrew Chafin has agreed to a one-year deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks. The 32-year-old signs a one-year contract worth $6.5 million for the 2023 season. It's odd that the lefty reliever lasted in free agency for this long. He has posted some consistent seasons in the past. Last season, Chafin finished with a 2.83 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 67/19 K/BB ratio across 57 1/3 innings with the Detroit Tigers. The expectation is that he'll compete for the closing role with the Diamondbacks. That being said, he could have fantasy value if he does secure the ninth-inning role.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
