Andrew Abbott Strikes Out Eight In Triple-A
1 year agoCincinnati Reds pitching prospect Andrew Abbott put forth a strong performance, striking out eight over seven innings and allowing two earned runs for Triple-A Louisville. The top prospect pitched well in May, recording a 2.97 ERA over 33 1/3 innings of work. In his last six starts, Abbott had five starts with at least eight strikeouts and fewer than three earned runs allowed. Abbott is a pitcher who can rack up strikeouts, posting over 11 K/9 at every level in the minor leagues. With the Reds rotation underperforming and losing Nick Lodolo (leg) for an extended period, Abbott could be called upon to help turn things around. The young left-hander is a player that fantasy managers should consider stashing in deeper leagues because he looks ready, and the need for him is apparent.
