Andres Munoz Earns One-Out Save Tuesday
1 year agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Andres Munoz picked up his eighth save of the season in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the White Sox. Munoz came in to pitch the bottom of the ninth up by three with two outs and a runner on first and struck out Luis Robert Jr. to end the game. The 24-year-old has been splitting save opportunities with Matt Brash lately and has pitched well overall this season, converting all but two save opportunities with a 2.60 ERA, an 11.94 K/9 rate, and a 4.15 BB/9 rate. Even if the Mariners employ a committee approach for the rest of the season, Munoz is worth a roster spot in at least all roto leagues given his strikeout upside and how well the Mariners have played lately.
