1 year agoCleveland Guardians second baseman Andres Gimenez will return to the starting lineup Wednesday afternoon versus the San Francisco Giants and left-hander Kyle Harrison. Gimenez didn't start Cleveland's 3-1 win on Tuesday night but he did strike out in a pinch-hitting appearance in the ninth inning. The 25-year-old has taken a step back at the plate this season, hitting .242 with 12 home runs, 27 stolen base, and a .691 OPS across 139 games after hitting a hefty .297 with 17 HR, 20 SB, and an .837 OPS across 146 contests a season ago. He continues to get nearly everyday reps at the keystone given his highly-regarded glove work while his power/speed combination is respectable at the second-base position.--Brenton Kemp
