Andres Gimenez Recalled From Triple-A
3 years agoCleveland Indians shortstop Andres Gimenez has been recalled from Triple-A Columbus, according to Ashley Bastock of the Beacon Journal. To make room for him on the roster, the Indians optioned relief pitcher J.C. Mejia to Triple-A. Gimenez appeared in 29 games with Cleveland earlier this year, slashing .179/.226/.308 with two homers, four steals, five RBI and 10 runs scored. He's looked much better at Triple-A though, as he has slashed .287/.342/.502 with 10 home runs, eight steals, 31 RBI and 30 runs scored across 52 games. He could be worth picking up in deeper formats as a middle infielder with decent upside for the rest of the season.
