2 years agoChicago Cubs shortstop Andrelton Simmons was granted his unconditional release on Sunday after being designated for assignment on Saturday. The 32-year-old could never really get going this year, posting an ugly .177/.244/.187 batting line to go along with seven RBI and four stolen bases over 75 at-bats with the Cubbies.
