Amir Garrett Signs Minor-League Deal With Toronto
3 days agoAccording to Ben Nicholson-Smith of SportsNet, left-handed pitcher Amir Garrett signed a minor-league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays. This deal includes an invitation to spring training. Last summer, Garrett spent most of the season at the Triple-A level. He logged just five 1/3 innings in the majors and held a hefty 5.06 ERA. In 33 2/3 innings at Triple-A, Garrett posted a 5.08 ERA and a 1.49 WHIP. He tallied 43 punchouts and served up 16 free passes. During the 2023 campaign, Garrett held a 3.33 ERA and a 1.73 across 24 1/3 innings in the majors. Fantasy managers should expect Garrett to compete for a bullpen role during spring training. However, given his lack of recent MLB experience and success, fantasy managers should expect the 32-year-old to open the campaign at Triple-A.
