Amir Garrett Has Suspension Reduced
4 years agoCincinnati Reds relief pitcher Amir Garrett will begin serving his suspension on Tuesday. Garrett was initially suspended seven games for his role in a benches-clearing incident during a game last weekend against the Cubs- though the MLB and the Player's Association agreed to reduce the suspension to five games. The 29-year-old has struggled this year, pitching to an 8.71 ERA with a 10:9 strikeout-to-walk ratio and four long balls surrendered. With Garrett out of the picture for the next five contests, Tejay Antone, Lucas Sims, and Sean Doolittle will likely duke it out for any save chances that might arise.
