Amed Rosario Pressured To Perform in 2020
5 years agoNew York Mets shortstop Amed Rosario will need to prove that he is the shortstop of the future for the Mets in 2020. With top SS prospects Andres Gimenez and Ronny Mauricio both getting closer to the majors, Rosario will need to build on his 2019 campaign. In 2019, Rosario hit .287 with 75 runs, 15 home runs, 72 RBI, and 19 stolen bases. While a strong second half in 2019 convinced the Mets not to experiment with him in center field, his long-term viability at SS for the Mets remains in question. Gimenez is stronger defensively than Rosario, and Mauricio has a higher offensive upside. Rosario remains a 20/20 candidate this season, justifying his current ADP of 135. However, dynasty owners should take note that Rosario's job certainty, at least with the Mets, will be dependent upon his offensive and defensive performance in 2020.
