4 months agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers designated infielder/outfielder Amed Rosario for assignment on Monday and activated infielder/outfielder Mookie Betts (hand) from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Rosario, who was acquired in a trade from the Tampa Bay Rays just two weeks ago at the end of July, became expendable with Betts making his long-awaited return. The 28-year-old Dominican veteran appeared in only five games with the Dodgers and went 3-for-11 with a double, two RBI and a stolen base after he hit .307 (81-for-264) with two homers, 26 RBI and nine stolen bases in 76 games for the Rays earlier this year. If Rosario isn't claimed by another team off waivers, he'll surely latch on with another organization as outfield and infield depth as a free agent. Betts has returned to right field for LA, so veterans Miguel Rojas and Nick Ahmed will share shortstop duties for the foreseeable future.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
