Amateur Luke Clanton Riding Heavy Momentum Into John Deere Classic
5 months agoFlorida State golfer, Luke Clanton, put on a heck of a show in Detroit en route to finishing T10. The newest face in golf finished second in the field in strokes gained off the tee (+1.08) and 12th in GIR% (80.6%). The 20-year-old has some serious game and will be a force to be reckoned with on the PGA Tour sooner or later, but, one good week doesn't make him a trustworthy option, especially at $9,900 on FanDuel. Take it from another fellow player, Nick Dunlap, who has found things much more difficult than he may have initially thought after winning the AMEX earlier in the season as an amateur. Performances like Clanton was able to have last week are rare, and while we are all hoping for repeat success, it isn't likely.
