Amari Cooper Struggled With Injuries In 2017
7 years agoOakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr said that wide receiver Amari Cooper fought through injuries all of last season. "He would never say it to you but I'll say it to you to have his back. That man was out there giving anything he could and honestly, a lot of guys probably wouldn't have played with what he had," Carr said. In 14 games, Cooper caught a career-low 48 passes for just 680 yards (14.2 yards per catch) and seven touchdowns. While the seven scores were a career high, he was also targeted a career-low 96 times. Oakland's offense as a whole took a big step backward, which is one of the main reasons they brought in new head coach Jon Gruden. With better health and improved play from Carr, Cooper is a bounce-back candidate that could present excellent value in drafts.
