Alshon Jeffery's Goal is to be Ready for Week 1
7 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) underwent surgery on Wednesday to repair a rotator cuff injury he played with all season. The "goal" is for Jeffery to be ready to go for Week 1 of the 2018 season, but he "could" be ready earlier than that. Even if he is deemed ready, the Eagles will likely treat their top receiver carefully and allow him to sit out the entire preseason. He'll almost certainly miss all of organized team activities, minicamp and training camp while recovering. With the Eagles keeping the same offensive system Jeffery played well in for the last half of the 2017 season, he should be fine with missing out on practices as long as he's ready to go for the first game of the season.
