Aljamain Sterling Proves Doubters Wrong
3 years agoProving the nay-sayers wrong, Aljamain Sterling defended his bantamweight crown at UFC 273 on Saturday by defeating the former champion Petr Yan by split decision (48-47, 47-48, 48-47). In 25 minutes of action, Sterling tallied 62 significant strikes (91 total strikes) but only landed two of his 22 attempts in the takedown department. In the very close contest, Sterling has now defeated Yan in back-to-back matchups. With Henry Cejudo retirement rumors floating around, it's possible TJ Dillashaw may be the next challenger for Sterling.
