Washington Capitals forward Aliaksei Protas (lower body) was limited to 11:39 of ice time in Friday's 5-3 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks. He exited the game in the third period, finishing scoreless with two shots on goal. Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery did not provide an update on Protas postgame, leaving his status uncertain for Sunday's contest against the New York Islanders. Protas has enjoyed a tremendous breakout year in 2024-25, becoming a 30-goal scorer and registering 66 points in 76 appearances. Connor McMichael, who ended a five-game pointless streak with an assist on Friday, may serve as Protas' replacement in the top six. Although he has struggled recently, McMichael has also had a very productive campaign with 55 points (25 goals, 30 assists) in 76 outings.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
