Alfred Morris Offers Value But With Risks
6 years agoWith San Francisco 49ers running back Matt Breida (ankle) banged up, veteran Alfred Morris could own the backfield limelight in Week 6. After Breida departed in Week 5, Morris received heavy usage (21 touches) but eked out only 4.3 yards per touch. Morris will be a volume-dependent RB2 against an ordinary Green Bay Packers rush defense, but faces the risk that the Niners quickly fall behind. Morris is likely to cede passing situations to running back Kyle Juszczyk who has 14 catches this season. With Breida healing quicker than expected, Morris owners should carefully monitor San Francisco’s injury announcements heading into the weekend. He’ll be downgraded to a flex play if Breida suits up.
