Alfred Morris Avoidable In Week 5
6 years agoThe outlook for San Francisco 49ers running back Alfred Morris is dimming as the team enters Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals. Morris logged a season-low 14 snaps in Week 4 and registered only 18 total yards on four touches. Averaging 13 carries through the first three weeks, this was a major setback. The Niners trust running back Matt Breida (shoulder) in both run and pass situations so Morris is at risk of being rendered to change-of-pace duties and the occasional goal-line opportunity. While Arizona has allowed the league’s most rushing touchdowns (seven), if Breida plays as expected, Morris should be viewed as a highly risky flex option.
