Alexis Diaz Notches Third Save Tuesday
2 years agoCincinnati Reds closer Alexis Diaz picked up his third save of the season in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the Rangers. Diaz came in to pitch the top of the ninth inning up by one. He got the first out on a strikeout, allowed a single, got the second out on another strikeout, had the tying run advance to second on a stolen base, and ended the game on a groundout. Diaz has not seen the majority of save opportunities to this point but has converted all three opportunities and has pitched well with a 3.38 ERA, 16 strikeouts, and just two walks in eight innings pitched. The Reds may not offer a ton of save opportunities, but Diaz is clearly the reliever to roster in fantasy leagues.
