Alexander Nylander Hopes To Join Brother On Maple Leafs Roster
4 months agoForward Alexander Nylander hopes to earn an NHL deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs to play alongside his brother, William. Nylander recently signed a one-year contract with the Maple Leafs' AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies. The 26-year-old failed to secure an NHL contract despite having a decent spell in Columbus last term. He notched 15 points (11 goals, four assists) in 23 games with the Blue Jackets over the final stretch of the season after the team acquired him from Pittsburgh. Nylander has struggled to carve out a role for himself in the NHL, but he's been productive in the minors. Over the past two seasons, Nylander has posted 42 goals and 82 points in 98 AHL appearances. If he keeps up the form in 2024-25, it might not take long until he links up with his brother on the Maple Leafs roster.
