Alex Wood Still Without A Win Despite Another Quality Start
7 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starter Alex Wood delivered another quality start that got no run support from the moribund Dodgers lineup. Wood scattered nine singles, allowing one earned run with eight strikeouts and no walks. Another Marlins run was unearned due to a Logan Forsythe error. But the Dodgers didn't answer with a run until the seventh inning when Wood was gone. This is the fourth quality start of the year for Wood but his 10th outing without a win. No one could have predicted how cold the bats have gone, so owners in leagues that count wins will have to ride out the storm until the Dodgers get better. Wood's value is slowly ticking up, so perhaps an owner who has lost a pitcher to injury is willing to pay preseason value. Ask around before Wood's next outing against the Nationals in D.C. on Sunday. That one likely won't go well for Wood.
