7 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfielder and top hitting prospect Alex Verdugo was optioned to the team's minor league camp on Tuesday. The move isn't surprising given how many outfielders the team has. With a surprisingly resurgent Matt Kemp and a healthy Andrew Toles competing for time in left field, it would have taken a miracle for Verdugo to crack the roster. He's an on-base monster whose hit tool is impressive (he hit .370 this spring), but he hasn't found any power yet. He'll be the first one up when an outfielder gets injured and looks to be atop the Dodgers order for years to come.--Mario Hernandez - RotoBaller
