5 months agoThe Washington Wizards selected forward Alex Sarr from France with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft. There was talk he might have gone No. 1 to the Hawks, but he didn't participate in a pre-draft workout for the team, so he'll now head to Washington, where he has a chance to get some meaningful minutes immediately. He played for the Perth Wildcats in the Australia National Basketball League in 2023-24 and averaged 9.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game. Sarr has room to improve offensively.
