Alex Reyes Skipped Over For Monday's Save Chance
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Alex Reyes was not called upon for Monday's save chance in a 3-1 game against the Cincinnati Reds. This comes on the heels of a blown save for Reyes which was followed by the team saying they would be reevaluating their ninth inning options. It will most likely end up as a closer-by-committee situation with Reyes still involved, but Giovanny Gallegos got the save on Monday and Genesis Cabrera figures to mix in as well. Reyes could well earn his inning back if he starts pitching better, but he's been escaping a lot of innings by the skin of his teeth all season long. Gallegos could take the job and never look back.
