Alex Reyes Locks Down A Two-Inning Save On Tuesday
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals closer Alex Reyes picked up his 19th save of the season in Tuesday's win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. He was called on for two innings this time, and got through both without allowing a run, giving up just one hit and striking out three. Reyes hasn't been getting much work lately, so his arm was certainly fresh enough for the two-inning outing in which he threw 32 pitches, 21 for strikes. He may get a day off on Wednesday regardless, but he'll take a 0.98 ERA to the mound for his next appearance.
