Alex Reyes Finally Allows A Run, But Still Earns A Save
4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals closer Alex Reyes picked up his 10th save of the season in Saturday's win over the Colorado Rockies. He did allow his first earned run of the season though, ballooning his ERA to 0.53. In total, Reyes pitched 1 2/3 innings, allowing a run on a hit and a walk while striking out three. Reyes has been excellent in terms of results, but a deeper look at his stats (4.27 xERA, 5.19 xFIP, 19% BB%) gives plenty of cause for concern.
