Alex Reyes Bounces Back With A Perfect Inning On Friday
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals closer Alex Reyes bounced back from the worst outing of his career by picking up his 25th save of the season. Reyes was unable to get an out in his previous outing, but on Friday he was tasked with saving a 4-2 game and did just that with a 1-2-3 inning including one strikeout. Reyes threw nine pitches, eight for strikes. It was the total opposite of his previous outing, where he was simply unable to throw any strikes at all. Reyes has a strong hold on the closer's job in St. Louis and outings like this one should be more expected than ones like his previous one. His walks are always going to be a concern, but he's hard to hit when he throws strikes.
