Alex Pham Strikes Out 11 On Tuesday
25 seconds agoBaltimore Orioles pitching prospect Alex Pham enjoyed one of the best starts of his professional career on Tuesday evening against Double-A Altoona. In this outing, the right-hander tossed five 1/3 innings of one-run ball. He allowed just three hits, no walks, and struck out an impressive 11 batters. The former 19th-round pick has flashed high strikeout upside through the early part of the Double-A regular season. Across his first 19 innings of work (four starts), the University of San Francisco product has struck out 29 batters and served up just seven free passes. Last summer, Pham spent his entire time with Double-A Bowie and tallied 138 punchouts across 119 innings in which he held a 4.24 ERA. Fantasy managers should expect Pham to receive a promotion to Triple-A later this season.
