Alex Ovechkin To Miss 4-6 Weeks With Fractured Fibula
1 month agoWashington Capitals winger Alex Ovechkin will be out for 4-6 weeks with a fractured fibula, the team announced on Thursday. Ovechkin suffered the injury in Monday's game against Utah. The veteran star has looked in great form this season, posting a league-high 15 goals with 10 assists in 18 games. He potted five goals across two games before getting hurt. The injury is a significant setback for Ovechkin's pursuit of breaking Wayne Gretzky's all-time goals record this season, and it's obviously bad news for the team as well. Andrew Mangiapane will replace Ovechkin on the first line in Thursday's matchup against Colorado.
