Alex Ovechkin Tallies Two Points On Wednesday
5 years agoWashington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin registered a goal and added an assist as his team dropped a 5-4 decision to the visiting Nashville Predators on Wednesday night. With his first-period marker (his 693rd career goal), the 34-year-old passed Steve Yzerman and moved into ninth place in the NHL all-time goal list. Ovechkin is about as hot as he could be at the moment, racking up nine goals over his past four contests. He continues to showcase his value as not only one of the game's greatest goal scorers of all-time but in fantasy pools as well. In his 15th NHL season, Ovechkin has posted 52 points (35 goals, 17 assists), 16 power-play points, 229 shots and 134 hits through 50 games. He's still a top-five asset in all standard Yahoo! leagues and will look to keep rolling when he faces the Ottawa Senators up next on Friday.
