Alex Kirilloff Recalled From Minors, Trevor Larnach Optioned
2 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Alex Kirilloff has been recalled from Triple-A while fellow outfielder Trevor Larnach has been optioned in a corresponding move. It appears it was time for Kirilloff to get another look in the big leagues after taking Triple-A pitching to begin the season. The 25-year-old hit .316 with three homers, two stolen bases, and a 1.040 OPS across 10 games and 46 trips to the plate at Triple-A St. Paul prior to his promotion. He hit just .250 with three homers and a .651 OPS across 45 appearances with the Twins last season. Larnach got a steady dose of playing time in left field for the Twins of late but failed to make the most of it. The lefty-swinging outfielder hit just .221 with three homers and a .687 OPS, striking out in 34.7% of his plate appearances despite an excellent 14.5% BB%.
