Alex Kirilloff Expected To Begin Rehab Assignment This Week
4 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder/first baseman Alex Kirilloff (wrist) was able to take batting practice Monday and is slated to begin a rehab assignment with the Triple-A St. Paul Saints sometime this week. Kirilloff received a cortisone shot a little over a week ago for his sprained wrist- and has gradually increased his activity, progressing from dry swings to batting practice. Manager Rocco Baldelli said that the Twins will continue to evaluate the talented prospect's wrist but that "he looked pretty good" and that it "puts the team in a good spot moving forward." It's too soon to say anything definite, though it appears that Kirilloff has avoided the long-term absence that was initially viewed as a possibility. Fantasy managers should stay tuned for more updates to see how he responds to game action, though he's certainly trending in the right direction.
