5 months agoDetroit Tigers right-hander Alex Faedo (hip) underwent imaging on his hip last Thursday and will get further evaluation, but he was able to do some on-field workouts last Friday. Faedo went on the 15-day injured list last Wednesday after complaining of hip pain following his June 4 outing against the Texas Rangers on the road. The former first-round draft pick previously had hip surgery in 2022, so this injury is something to watch closely. Once considered a starter, all 21 of Faedo's appearances in 2024 before getting hurt came out of Detroit's bullpen, and he went 3-1 with 3.38 ERA (4.48 FIP) and 1.18 WHIP with a 29:13 K:BB in 34 2/3 innings pitched. He has been more efficient so far in a relief role for the Tigers, but it's also not a role really conducive to fantasy appeal for Faedo.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
