Alexis Diaz Locks Down 33rd Save Monday
1 year agoCincinnati Reds closer Alexis Diaz earned his 33rd save of the season in Monday's 5-2 win over the Marlins. Diaz came in to pitch the top of the ninth inning up by three. He allowed back-to-back walks to start the inning but then got the first out on a strikeout and ended the game with a groundball double play. The 26-year-old has been excellent this season and is now tied with San Francisco Giants closer Camilo Doval for the most saves in baseball. His 2.34 ERA and 12.96 K/9 rate have made him one of fantasy's best closers.
