7 years agoTampa Bay Rays closer Alex Colome earned his second victory of the season Sunday versus the Twins. Much like his victory Friday, he pitched a scoreless inning and then the Rays won in the bottom of the inning. He also struck out all three batters he faced. Colome recorded an MLB-leading 47 saves in 2017, but his overall numbers elsewhere weren't as impressive as his 2016 campaign. His strikeout and walk rates both went in the wrong direction, and his ERA jumped up more than a full run to 3.24 from 1.90 in 2016. He still should be owned in all leagues where saves are a category. He saved 84 games between 2016-17 while only blowing nine chances.--Jamie Mellor
