Alex Collins Is A Risky Play In Week 5
6 years agoBaltimore Ravens running back Alex Collins (knee) did not practice on Thursday as a precaution, but he is expected to be a go on Sunday. Collins has yet to really get anything going on the ground this year, as his 68-yard and one-touchdown performance against the Broncos in Week 3 is his best game of the season. He is averaging just 3.5 yards per carry for the season, which is 1.1 yards less than last year, while also having well-documented fumbling problems. The 24-year-old back has reached the end zone three times and is on pace to set career highs in receptions. The Browns have struggled this year against running backs, permitting the 10th most fantasy points as well as the fifth most rushing yards and third most touchdowns. However, Collins only averaged 40 yards on nine carries against the Browns last year and he has essentially shared the backfield workload with Javorius Allen this season. At the very best, the third-year pro is a low-end RB2 with the slight potential of being a disastrous play.
