Alex Collins Has Tough Matchup Versus Saints
6 years agoBaltimore Ravens running back Alex Collins is coming off a solid 54-yard, two-touchdown performance on a season-high 19 carries in a 21-0 win over the Titans last week. While he averaged an uninspiring 2.8 yards per attempt, he only had two negative runs and garnered five or more yards on three of his carries. More importantly, the 24-year-old out-touched Javorius Allen, who he was essentially sharing the backfield workload with over the first five weeks, 19 to four. Collins has garnered double-digit carries in each of his last four games, however, he has only two receptions for 10 yards over the last three games. New Orleans is giving up the fifth fewest fantasy points to running backs, as opposing backs have accumulated a league-low 245 yards on the ground along with three touchdowns this season. Tampa Bay's Peyton Barber is the only running back to top the 60-yard plateau this season against the Saints this season. Collins, eighth in the NFL with four rushing touchdowns, will likely need to reach the end zone to provide very much value to fantasy owners this week. Still, fantasy players should consider him as an RB3/flex option in Week 7.
