3 months agoThe Cleveland Guardians placed right-hander Alex Cobb (finger) on the 15-day injured list on Monday with a fractured nail on his right hand and selected the contract of left-hander Anthony Gose from Triple-A Columbus in a corresponding move. The team also moved left-hander Sam Hentges (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list. Cobb just can't seem to keep himself healthy this year after just recently making his 2024 debut on Aug. 9 after being traded from the San Francisco Giants to Cleveland at the trade deadline. In his two starts for the Guardians, the 36-year-old veteran gave up six runs (five earned) on 12 hits (one homer) while walking three and striking out only four in 10 1/3 innings against the Twins and Cubs. Cobb looked better in his second outing last Wednesday against Chicago, but now he'll be forced to miss another two weeks and is running out of time to make much of an impact as a low-upside streamer in deep fantasy leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
