Alex Bregman Homers For The First Time In The Last 12 Games
4 years agoHouston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman had one of the best performances of Saturday going 2-for-3 and walking in his other trip to the plate. He scored a season-high four runs himself while driving three base runners in. More important, though, is the fact that Bregman was able to finally hit a home run for the first time in the past 12 games, adding a third one to his season-long tally through 59 PA in 124G. While Bregman has already amassed 18 hits in April and is slashing a great .340/.407/.528 this year, he's found it tough to get hits past the fences with a great 25% HR/FB ratio but only 11 fly-ball hits (28%, in the 17th percentile among players with 50+ PA). Most of all, Bregman excels at getting on base. The third baseman is reaching base on more than 40 percent of the times he goes to the plate, his best mark since he was named an All-Star back in 2019 and a top-25 mark (89th percentile) in the MLB among the same group of filtered hitters. Bregman is expected to keep racking up hits while sustaining a low strikeout rate (currently 16.9 K%) going forward.
