3 days agoAccording to Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic, third baseman Alex Bregman went through his first workout as a member of the Boston Red Sox. The third baseman took part in batting practice and fielding drills. Manager Alex Cora noted that Bregman is a Gold Glove third baseman and could be a "Gold Glove second baseman" if he shifts to that position as well. When Bregman initially signed his three-year deal with the Red Sox, there was speculation he would move to the keystone, as Rafael Devers is already the team's third baseman. However, given the emergence of second base prospect Kristian Campbell, Bregman may be deployed at several positions throughout the season. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status during spring training, as he could see his fantasy value increase if he were to pick up multi-positional eligibility.
