Alex Bregman Awarded AL Player Of The Week
3 years agoHouston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman earned the first American League Player of the Week award of the 2022 season after hitting .429 (6-for-14) with two home runs, six RBI, four runs scored and a 1.286 OPS while striking out just once in the first four games of the season. After an injury shortened 2021 season limited him to just 91 games, Bregman is fully healthy and off to a great start to the 2022 season. His hot start is validated by his .565 xSLG and elite 15% barrel rate. While the Astros will likely sit him out periodically throughout the season in hopes of keeping him healthy, he is a must-start when in the lineup.
