Alex Bowman's Streak Of Front-Row Starts Ends
10 months agoAlex Bowman's streak of six consecutive front-row starts in the Daytona 500 will end this Sunday when he starts seventh in The Great American Race. Despite being an impressive streak that will likely never be duplicated given the parity that the Next Gen car has introduced, Bowman didn't do much with the opportunity the favorable starting positions should have provided him. In the six front-row starts he made between 2018-2023, he led a combined 29 laps and finished in the top five just one time. While he did finish in the top 10 in both races at Daytona in 2023, his average finish in his 15 Cup starts at the World Center of Racing is just 16.1, results that could best be described as underwhelming. Between his lackluster history at this track and his starting position providing little upside, it's hard to justify playing the No. 48 in DFS this weekend.
