Alex Bowman Swinging On The Gallows Pole
1 year agoAlex Bowman comes into Daytona like Chase Elliott. Both Hendrick Motorsports Racing drivers need a win. While Elliott has an out of sorts in the owners standings, Bowman and his No. 48 car have work to do there too. Also, considerable help would be needed. He did place fifth at the Daytona 500 in February after winning the pole. The Hendrick Chevy had little of that speed in practice and qualifying this time around. Bowman qualified in 31st for Saturday night's race. He did finish 14th, 7th, and 7th in the last 400-mile events at Daytona but a win seems a long ways away.
